Valentin Oppermann was born and raised in Alsace, France. He comes from a family of musicians. His education as a dancer brought him to Stuttgart’s John Cranko School at the age of 12, to Mannheim’s Academy of Dance with 17 and finally to Rotterdam’s Codarts University of the Arts, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.
In the season 2014/15 he moved to Bern and worked for the Dance Company, Konzert Theater Bern. He then had his debut with Pink Mama Theatre in 2015, when the company toured in Poland. Since then he has played in the following productions: Dynastie, Olympiade, Jungle, Zielonooki, Gottesmütter, The Boy and Death, Fashion, and now, in Shaved Town. Since 2016 Valentin has authored all piece concepts for Pink Mama Theatre. 2017 marked his debut as an actor. Since that year he has composed and created the music for the full evening length productions Jungle, Fashion, Gottesmütter and Shaved Town.
In 2019 he joined his brothers in the direction of the Sommermusikfest, an 8-day annual festival in Germany with an abundance of workshops, concerts and performances. In the same year, he received a generous grant, the Off-Stage-Scholarship of the Canton of Berne. He will devote this grant, 2020/21, to intensive research and the deepening of his musical skills.
